Jack’s Journey – From Pain to Hope
Jack’s life began in silence and suffering. He was found near our shelter, a wounded and abandoned soul, with both ears brutally cut off and a gaze that spoke only of heartbreak. His spirit was shattered, betrayed by two girls who moved abroad and left him behind, alone and defenseless.
After being abandoned, Jack was violently attacked by another dog. When we heard the news, we feared the worst. Days later, he reappeared—terrified, broken, and unwilling to trust anyone. We could feel his fear. He wouldn’t come near us, hiding from the world that had already done him so much harm.
But we didn’t give up. Step by step, we gained his trust. He came into our shelter and spent days locked in a cage, frozen in fear. With time, love, food, and gentle care… Jack finally opened his heart. One day, he kissed me. That simple kiss was the most powerful moment—his first smile, his first spark of trust. It reminded us why we do what we do.
Sadly, Jack’s battle was far from over. He was diagnosed with leishmaniasis and anaplasmosis, two dangerous diseases that threatened his life once again. But we fought with him—started the medication, and yesterday he completed his full Milteforan treatment successfully. His condition has significantly improved, and he’s smiling again.
While his spirit is healing, we still need help to cover the cost of his treatment, as part of the medication remains unpaid.
