The abandoned dog found in Area 21, Tirana. We named him Tobi, but his true name is Zeus.
Zeus is a dog with a heart-wrenching story. He once lived in a comfortable home with a loving family, but his life took a tragic turn when he ended up on the streets in poor condition. We discovered Zeus after he was reported by several people in a busy area of Tirana. He was at risk of being taken by the local authorities, and due to the challenges of managing his breed, his life was in danger. He was found in heartbreaking condition—malnourished, scared, and profoundly sad.
We rescued Zeus and took him to a clinic for thorough check-ups and to get neutered. He was diagnosed with severe anemia, though thankfully, no further complications. After he showed signs of improvement, with the help of a well-known local woman, we were able to find him shelter and training at one of the best dog hotels in the area. Unfortunately, due to internal issues at the hotel, the management released him and informed us that he had escaped.
After several debates and threats, we began searching for him. A week later, a man appeared, claiming to be the original owner of Zeus. He had seen the search go viral and suspected that Zeus was hiding in the area. He called out to him, and Zeus responded. The owner explained that Zeus was three years old and had lived with him in a house until he had to move to Germany. A friend of his had agreed to care for Zeus, but after a couple of months, the communication stopped, and the friend had abandoned him on the streets in a terrible state, even mistreating him.
Now, Zeus is in a shelter with a monthly fee of 150 euros, but there’s a major problem: the owner of the shelter plans to sell the property. Once this happens, Zeus will have no place to stay. Finding another shelter for him is extremely difficult due to his breed. Therefore, it is urgent that we find a loving family or home to adopt Zeus as soon as possible. His story needs a happy ending.
Zeus is truly special—a gentle soul with the softest heart. He has come a long way, recovering steadily with improved tests and anemia under control. He’s now healthy, vaccinated, neutered, and simply waiting for a loving family to call his own.
Our wish is simple: Can someone offer Zeus a forever home? He’s only 3 years old, an affectionate Dogo Argentino with a sweet, obedient nature.
