🐾 Kiko’s Journey: From Suffering to Salvation πŸ•ŠοΈ

Kiko’s story began just a few months ago, in one of the most heartbreaking ways imaginable. We found him abandoned and in horrific condition β€” a deep, festering wound on his shoulder, his body weak, and his eyes filled with silent pain. His photo was shared widely across pages and screens, and his tired, hopeless face touched the hearts of many.

It felt like a miracle the day we found him β€” a dog who had clearly suffered in silence for far too long. We rushed him to the hospital, hoping it was something treatable. At first, we believed the wound could be closed with simple care. But the reality was far worse. Kiko had to endure two surgeries to close the wound, and just when we thought he was safe… everything changed. The infection spread deeper than anyone had imagined, and the damage was irreversible. The only way to save his life was to amputate his leg.

This was one of the most painful rescues we’ve ever faced β€” not just because of the physical damage, but because it could have been prevented. Kiko had suffered for so long, and we were too late to undo the past. But we were not too late to give him a future.

Through it all, Kiko never stopped fighting. And neither did we.

Thanks to the love and generosity of incredible people, Kiko was given the chance of a lifetime β€” a one-way journey to the United States, to a forever home filled with warmth, comfort, and love. In November, Kiko boarded his flight and began a new chapter β€” one not defined by pain or fear, but by hope and healing.

He is now safe. He is now loved. And he will never suffer again.

Kiko’s journey is a reminder that every life matters. That behind every wounded soul, there is a heart still beating, still hoping β€” and still deserving of everything beautiful this world can offer.

Thank you to every single person who stood by him.

Kiko’s battle is over β€” and he won. πŸ–€

FULL STORYΒ  :
Kiko the dog had a very deep wound in the shoulder area that even the tendon of his leg was visible πŸ’” He couldn’t put his foot on the ground at all! He moved only with 3 legs!
He was sent to Vet Hospital. The wound was very deep, but fortunately it was only muscular according to the doctors πŸ™
He stayed in the hospital for nearly 10 days because he was treated with antibiotics.
After the operation, the wound created drainage and the doctors had to keep it under control to clean it. And Kiko was unfortunately operated on for the second time πŸ₯ΊπŸ™
He continued to stay in the hospital until the wound healed and closed completely.
After he recovered, I sent him to a paid foster. A few days passed and the wrong happened.
We had to rush him to the hospital after we noticed a swelling inside Kiko’s hand, near the operated wound. It didn’t look good at all.

Early Saturday morning we took him to the hospital as soon as day broke as he just cried all night.

After checking with the doctors, it was found that he had an internal infection and unfortunately it had gone to the bone. Nothing could be done to save the hand, the only solution was amputation πŸ’”πŸ˜’
So much pain and sadness for the little one.
He is not even 2 year old according to the doctors, and he will have to live with 3 legs for the rest of his life 😭
